Trading the big sky of Montana for the red rocks of Southern Utah native Montanan Dona Lee joined the Cello Society of Southern Utah in 2016. Dona was given a cello as a Christmas present by her husband 5 years ago. Without any music foundation the fear of failure motivated her early self-teaching. Her families perseverance through less than melodious practice sessions with support and encouragement got her out of the beginner stage and on toward a fulfilling relationship with the cello. Dona states “self-teaching didn’t go too far it was after I started taking lessons with Jessika Soli I began to see real improvement”. Dona works for SkyWest Airlines in St George travel has been a life-long passion and she is continually traveling to see her 27 (and counting) grandchildren. She also is an outdoor enthusiast, hiking and bicycling being her favorite.
